Dr. Keri Allen, MD has completed specialized fellowship training in Global Ophthalmology at Emory University and a research fellowship in glaucoma genetics at Harvard's Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. She travels regularly to low income countries to fight global blindness through direct care and training of other doctors. She has called Saipan home since 2020.
Since 2021, Wendie guides the talented teams at Marianas Eye Institute to express "Excellence with Love" every day. She works with community leaders to advance healthcare in the CNMI, and ensures that the most advanced technologies and highest quality of eye care are available to the peoples of the Mariana Islands.
As former CEO and current Board member of Marianas Eye Institute, Russ Quinn provides ongoing strategic vision and guidance to the leadership of the clinic, ensuring that it's vision and mission to bring the best quality eye care to the people of the CNMI is fulfilled. After over 30 years in Saipan, he supports the leadership from his home in Colorado.
The co-founder of Marianas Eye Institute, Dr. David Khorram, continues to serve our Saipan eye clinic through advising the leadership team and providing patient care. After more than 20 years serving the peoples of the Mariana Islands, Dr. Khorram currently serves at the Director of Global Ophthalmology at the University of Virginia from his home in Portugal. He spends his time traveling to underserved countries to provide volunteer eye surgery and training.
Mara Blonigen Khorram is the co-founder of Marianas Eye Institute. With a background in Health Administration and a Masters in Public Health, she was the stimulus in the establishment of Marianas Eye Institute. In its early years she served as the clinic administrator and Chief Executive Officer.
Flor Racoma is Mariana Eye Institute's invaluable accountant and medical billing specialist. She has been with our Saipan eye clinic since its first year in 1998. She holds certification from the American Academy of Ophthalmologist as an Ophthalmic Coding Specialist. Flor holds a Bachelor's degree in accountancy. Married with two children, Flor has been a resident of Saipan since the early 1990's.
Melonie Norita has been with Marianas Eye Institute since 1999. She is certified by the Joint Commission of Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant. She is the mother of five sons, and serves as a supervisor of our Saipan eye clinic.
Thelma started working at Marianas Eye Institute in 2002 as a part-time medical receptionist. Fresh out of high school and no work experience, she quickly proved to be a valuable addition to our Saipan eye clinic. She eventually moved into ophthalmic assisting, and through our in-house training program was able to pass her national certifying exam as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant. Thelma also serves as one of our two office supervisors.
Alex has been a member of the Marianas Eye Institute family since 2004. He was initially hired as an electrical technician, and while working at our Saipan eye clinic, gained experience and interest in becoming an optical laboratory technician. In 2010, he successfully completed the examination and requirements set forth by the American Board of Opticianry, and became a Certified Optician. In addition, Alex directs our Optical Lab, and is a master lens crafter.
Florie was born and raised on the beautiful island of Saipan, the middle of seven children. She joined our Saipan eye clinic in 2009. While at Marianas Eye Institute, she gained her US credentials as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant. On any given day, you can find Florie checking vision, reviewing retinal photographs with our diabetic patients, or updating our Facebook page.
