Our Outstanding Staff

Alex D. Racoma

Alex has been a member of the Marianas Eye Institute family since 2004.  He was initially hired as an electrical technician, and while working at our Saipan eye clinic, gained experience and interest in becoming an optical laboratory technician.  In 2010, he successfully completed the examination and requirements set forth by the American Board of Opticianry, and became a Certified Optician.  In addition, Alex directs our Optical Lab, and is a master lens crafter.

Thelma Babauta Tenorio

Thelma started working at Marianas Eye Institute in 2002 as a part-time medical receptionist. Fresh out of high school and no work experience, she quickly proved to be a valuable addition to our Saipan eye clinic. She eventually moved into ophthalmic assisting, and through our in-house training program was able to pass her national certifying exam as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant. Thelma also serves as one of our two office supervisors.

Melonie Q. Norita

Melonie Norita has been with Marianas Eye Institute since 1999. She is certified by the Joint Commission of Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant. She is the mother of five sons, and serves as a supervisor of our Saipan eye clinic.

Florie Forbes

Florie was born and raised on the beautiful island of Saipan, the middle of seven children. She joined our Saipan eye clinic in 2009. While at Marianas Eye Institute, she gained her US credentials as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant. On any given day, you can find Florie checking vision, reviewing retinal photographs with our diabetic patients, or updating our Facebook page.
