The doctors at Marianas Eye Institute are active in contributing to the scientific community. Throughout the years, our doctors have published articles in internationally known scientific journals, as well as a best-selling book about diabetic eye disease. Our most recent publication, in collaboration with the Genetic Eye Center at the University of Iowa, was in 2015, which discovered a gene responsible for an eye disease in a family on Saipan. Additionally, we have been involved over the years with the Diabetic Clinical Research Network, funded by the National Institutes of Health, and administered through Johns Hopkins University.
